[2006-10-20] IANIS+ broadband survey for public authorities
The IANIS+ work programme, coordinated by eris@ (The European Regional Information Society Association), with the support and guidance of the Commission, has launched a survey to establish the extent to which public authorities at local and regional levels are interested and willing to
- share their information, experiences and problems regarding broadband deployment and procurement
- share their plans and requirements with respect to future broadband provision
- collaborate with other public authorities to aggregate their demands for broadband provision.

[2006-03-22] New DSL Technology
On 22 March 2006 Infineon hosted a webinar to announce their new DSL chips. The chips are now
commercially available. They are based on modern ULSI CMOS technologies and exploit Trellis/Vterbi code and spread spectrum
technologies. They fit to the new VDSL2 and ADSL2/2+ standards. Range is 500 metres for 50 to 100MBit/s
