IANIS+ (Innovative Actions Network for the Information Society) builds on the progress of IANIS (October 2002-September 2004).
The main aims of the IANIS+ programme are:
- to further develop inter-regional networking;
- providing more effective mechanisms to facilitate sharing information, experience and good practice between regions . both by face-to-face meetings and virtual exchanges;
- to build a bridge between EU-15 regions and regions of the NMS;
- undertaking analysis of regional good practices in terms of innovative projects, programming, processes and organisation. Regions in the new Member States will be actively encouraged to participate, thus contributing to EU cohesion efforts post-Enlargement.
- to populate, animate, and further develop the e-Region Hub (developed under IANIS), creating new tools as necessary but above all to develop information resources for regional information and knowledge-based society development in support of policy analysis for policy makers and practitioners working in the context of the Structural Funds and the knowledge-based society.
